The Diversity Works New Zealand team is working hard to support organisations as they navigate through the Covid-19 alert levels.
We want to assure you that we will still be available for consultation and advice throughout this period. We will continue to work from home at Alert Level 3, so we ask you to understand there may be some delays both in reaching us or in us being able to respond at times.
Other important things to note are:
- We have developed a series of online workshops as part of our commitment to helping New Zealand workplaces continue their diversity and inclusion journey throughout the Covid-19 crisis.
- The 2020 Diversity Awards NZ™ awards programme will go ahead however there may need to be some changes to the way it’s delivered to ensure the safety of entrants, judges and the team working on the awards. We have extended the entry deadline for five weeks until 3pm, Tuesday, 9 June. We also hope to hold our fabulous Gala Dinner later in the year but if that’s not appropriate, we will find another way to announce and celebrate our winners.
- We are cancelling all training and workshops unless they can be delivered digitally until the end of April. If you are registered to attend an event, we will be in contact to discuss a refund or credit note.
- We are sharing how other organisations are maintaining an inclusive culture while in lockdown via a series of Facebook Live interviews with Head of Membership Services Mary Haddock-Staniland. Follow us on Facebook to watch these.
The work we are all doing in the diversity and inclusion space is more important now than ever. Research shows us that diversity and inclusion are key to teams working effectively together, especially through times of disruption. Belonging is an important part of that. The foundations we have in place will also help us to support each other through a difficult time.
